What's New for the Cadillac XT4?
This year sees the new XT4 get a mid-cycle refresh. With it comes many changes to the model's design. Now, the exterior sports a new front and rear end design, a refreshed grille, and new LED headlights. This refresh also brings a host of brand new wheel designs, including new 18-inch and 20-inch options available in various colors like: Emerald Lake Metallic, Midnight Sky Metallic, and Deep Sea metallic.
As for the interior, the XT4 adopts Lyriq's 33.0-inch infotainment display. The system runs Cadillac's latest infotainment system - a Google bases Android Automotive software that features wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Additionally, a 13-speaker AKG stereo system is optional as is an onboard 5G Wi-Fi hotspot.
Performance
Powering every trim of the new XT4 is a single powertrain -a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that's mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and outputs 235 horsepower and 258 lbs.-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard but all-wheel drive is available on every trim level. With only a single powertrain, the EPA estimates that the XT4 earns about 25 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
Trim Levels
The Cadillac Xt4 is available in three trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport.
Luxury: As a base trim, the Luxury is fairly basic, but it is equipped with an abundance of features. These include power front seats, ambient lighting, a 33-inch digital instrument panel and touchscreen, and a seven-speaker sound system.
Premium Luxury: This mid-tier trim adds to the Luxury's list of features with amenities such as a hands-free power liftgate, leather upholstery, memory settings for the driver's seat and mirros, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Sport: The top-of-the-line Sport provides drivers with all the features of the previous two trims. It also offers dark-finish 18-inch wheels, black grille, black window trim, and a sport-tuned suspension with adaptive dampers.
Design
The exterior of the XT4 has been updated with some new design elements but so has the interior. Inside Newburgh, and IN and Owensboro, KY drivers will find a comfortable and spacious cabin with stitched, faux leather wrapped on the doors and center console. The space provides ample room for both front- and back-seat passengers, and there's plenty of room behind the rear seats to hold six carry-on suitcases. With the seatbacks folded flat around 18 bags can fit.
Technology
The completely redesigned interior of the XT4 also comes with plenty of new tech. There's a massive 33-inch LED color touchscreen display that incorporates both the gauge cluster and the infotainment system. The infotainment system sports a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Additionally, Evansville and Louisville shoppers will receive a 13-speaker audio system from AKG and new colorways and materials, including a Piano Black trim, genuine wood, and carbon fiber elements.
Safety Features
There are plenty of active safety features throughout the new XT4. There's a blind zone steering assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and lane keep assist with lane departure warning that all come standard. Features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and a new traffic sign reader can be are offered in the optional Active Safety Package.
